Oh Hey Ice

So Saturday I tried to fill Henry's water and the hose was frozen so I couldn't... Well today I tried after the hose sat out in the sun for a bit and this is what came sputtering out...

Hello ICE! I like how they are perfect little rods of ice haha!

Turned Henry out and headed to the big outdoor arena to watch the Hawley clinic.

I got to soak in two groups of the clinic and was impressed with all of their riding... talent for sure!

Going to talk to my training about the possibility of Henry and I maybe participating in one. I don't want to un-do all of the hard work we have done in the last year and a half so we shall see what she says :) Henry is learning to go calm, cool and collected- no galloping haha!

Hack tomorrow, lesson Tuesday, off Wednesday, lesson Friday, trainer ride Friday and lesson Saturday.

Also, seeing the green in your pictures is really making me hate winter. *sigh*

    1. very true... but I don't want to backtrack on the calm cool and collected Henry that I have worked hard to get :) Yesterday she was having them gallop between fences and he already like to haul bootie and it's something we have been working on to keep a constant (no to fast) pace through the course soooo we shall see :)

  6. It.Was.So.Cold!!!!! My body is sore from SHIVERING this weekend out at the barn! Hopefully the trainer says yes! I think yes, eventing and hunters is different, but I think in the SJ arena the questions she asked are ones we should all (eventers/hunters/jumpers) should be able to tackle (level appropriate of course) like can you turn and is your horse adjustable...I took my time getting to a jump clinic with Pong for the same reason you're talking about with Henry - I wanted to make sure all the things we'd been working on with our regular trainer were confirmed habits/ways of going before we shook it up with an unfamiliar trainer. Good thinking waiting before getting more input. At some point Henry of course needs to be able to go way forward and come way back without issue/be adjustable to that degree, but if it's not there yet, best to tackle one thing at a time!

    1. yep totally... i can see that the clinic would be awesome for both of us IF my trainer thinks he's ready. I have no doubt that he would be able to perform all that she asked of you guys- I just don't want to confuse him or create an issue since I plan to show this year (and I expect us to be competitive lol). :) We shall see! Either way one day I will get there!
