Winter Wear Review

I bought some new riding tops with birthday money from my grandma and some of my own money too... happy birthday to me lol!!

Under Armour Sonic HeatGear Longsleeve

I like the fit, wish it was a little longer but I have a long upper body and a larger chest so that doesn't help. I am not really sure how the layer for this one is supposed to go- I wore it by its self... anyone have advice?

I give it 3 of 5 stars

Under Armour Tech 1/4 Zip

This one is longer and fits me much better. Comfortable and love the color :)

I give it 4.5 of 5 stars

Ariat Lowell 1/4 Zip

Love the fit, similar to the above. Very comfy when riding. Kept me at a great temp.

Got this in black and maroon.

I give 5 of 5 stars

Ariat Tek Team 1/4 Zip

Love this one as well.. layers well. Keeps me at a good temp.

I give it a 4.5 of 5 stars.

Ariat Ladies' Lowell Wrap Collar Top

I really like this top too, it fits like the 1/4 zip. Got it in gray and it matches great with my maroon and gray SP breeches and is long enough for my upper body!

I give it 5 of 5 stars.

Love my new winter tops :)

  1. I have the UA and the Lowell 1/2 zip. I wear both with vests on top. I wear vests all late fall-early spring, even if I wear a shirtsleeves (which is likely UA as well). I have a big chest, but small build and a seriously compression bra (Enell) so don't have any trouble with the fit of my UA. I like that it has breathability but doesn't let my arms freeze in the wind of riding. ;)

    1. I have the UA non-zip COLD gear. You should be wearing COLDgear during the cold, heat for hot. ;) Works better that way :D And you can often get them on sale after season at local sports shops and online at UA.

    2. I thought u would try a heatgear too bc we don't get super cold and it would help when I layer and then sweat.

I love vets, I'll have to get more :)

    3. Agreed! I LIVE in my UA in the winter. I always wear them with a vest. I get my vests from Goode Rider anddddd...TARGET! http://www.target.com/p/women-s-packable-down-puffer-vest-heatlast/-/A-15788600#prodSlot=medium_1_3&term=vest

  4. I'm a HUGE vest wearer! I usually do a longsleeve UA underneath another longsleeved top with a fleece or "puffy" vest, although I'm in the market for some new UA ColdGear this winter.

  5. I've gotten some nice vests - fleece and puffy - from Lands End. Just keep an eye out for the sales or a coupon code. Here in Baltimore (home of Under Armour) anything goes. Some layer and some just wear as a shirt.

  6. If I wear UA without a sweater over it, I usually wear a vest. But... it gets much colder here than does in CA :-)
