5 Day Challenge Day 1

Last night Henry had the evening off and Grayson got a lesson in picking up his feet... exciting I know. He let me pick them up and even pick them out the last 2 days but last night we had some discussion- always fun. But hey we will get there, one step at a time :)

He loves her :)

Thanks to Tracy at Fly On Over for this :)

1. Most influential person in your riding

I know most people think horse person but I know it's my grandma. She supported my dream of riding- financially, physically and emotionally. She would drive up from So Cal and wake up at 4 am to get me to the barn and spend all day with me at the horse show. She bought me my first saddle and helped pay for horse shows. It's not that my parents didn't want to pay, they couldn't- its was to expensive.

To this day she is still my #1 fan! She still braves the cold to come watch my lessons when she is in town.

I can't tell you how amazing it is to have someone who supports you 110% in what you love!

2. Piece of tack you'd love to splurge on.

I know it's like a broken record but I agree with almost everyone else, I want a custom saddle. With ever bell and whistle!

At the current moment I want an Antares but that is because I haven't sat in anything else that high end.. i'd like to sit in a few more and then make my unlimited choice if budget was unlimited :)

3. Top 5 riding playlist.

I tend to listen to Pandora and listen to radio.. Today's Hits, 90's R&B, Michael Jackson or Today's Country :)

4. Most important aspect of your barn.

That is it close, really close to my house and work.. like I can get there in 15 min or less.

5. Three winter riding goals.

- Keep Henry in good shape.. he's got his job now so it's just keeping him refined :)
- Incorporate no stirrups into every ride
- Have fun more while riding

  4. good for your grandma :) I probably wouldn't have ever gotten to where I am today without my grandpa. He built a barn on his property and bought me a pony when I was 6. When I was 11 and was still horse obsessed, my parents realized it wasn't going away and my grandpa let us sell the pony and a mare he had for my first real 'show' horse. :) Grandparents are the best!

  5. Grayson is gorgeous, I love that first picture :) I am also working with Melody with her feet. She lets me pick them out fine but we recently discovered she hasn't learnt to bring her legs forward for the farrier - so thats what we are working on.

    1. Thanks!

Yeah he is learning that if I pick up a leg, he is NOT going to fall over ;)

    1. Hubby and I decided that more money wasn't worth working farther away and having the barn close was a must too since I do work, time is limited :)
