If you have been reading my blog since the beginning you know he didn't start out this way.. I got him off the track and he was just track broke... with a learned habit of stopping at almost any jump- no bueno!

I had my first daughter 4.5 months before getting him via c-section, who's bright idea was this?!?! lol

Sometime I wonder if people look at Henry and think oh he's a nice horse, she must have money to buy something... but really they don't know the hell I went through to get to where we are. Thanks go to my trainer for pushing me and seeing me through it all!

My horse is SO fun to ride now, I feel like we really know each other and almost all of the time I feel confident riding him.
I hope to have a long, successful, healthy partnership with Mr H as Erica calls him!
You've done an amazing job with him! I think those horses that you have to work with like that are so much more fun to have in the long run, rather than buying a push button horse that's already made. It's awesome to look back and see how far you've come!
ReplyDeleteHe does look amazing, this was a nice look back at the process it took to get him where he is now.
ReplyDeleteHe is very nice Karley! You've done amazing! A good horse takes years to develop you guys are proof that sticking it out pays off big time!
ReplyDeleteHe is SUCH a hunk! You should be really proud of where you guys are at!
ReplyDeletePeople assuming that you are a spoiled HP is (in a weird way) the biggest compliment circuit riders can offer.
ReplyDeleteOne time someone approached me and Pair and said "isn't it nice when made horses can stop down and teach us Ammy's a thing or two?" I nearly died, but then I realized that at some point Pair stopped looking like the rookie and put that hat firmly on my head :)... which was what I had been working for!
Lol I think people make the same mistake about Libby and I. And I'll gladly take it :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's really awesome that you brought him along yourself to this level.
ReplyDeleteGreat accomplishment! Both of you look great together. :)
ReplyDeleteAlex and I are not nearly as far along, but you're exactly right, it's a huge sense of accomplishment to look back and see how far you've come! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteawesome job with him! i haven't been following long enough to remember when he was that green, it's quite the transformation!!
ReplyDeleteMr. H is a fancy man who was built not bought :)
ReplyDeleteI desperately hope someday that people will say that about my horse! This is a super way to think about it, and I bet you feel pretty damn proud of yourself for all the work you put in. :)
ReplyDeleteHard work pays off!
ReplyDeleteYou guys have come a long way and really look great together!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely easy on the eyes! Happy New Year. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to go back an read more of your blog. I didn't know this. He looks so good!!
