There are some local schooling shows that I will set my sights on, that way if something happens that doesn't affect me/my horse I can still go :)

Had a lesson today- there were like seriously 6 other people hacking kinda lessoning while I had my lesson. It's either lots of people or no people during my Thur am lesson.
So it was SUPER windy outside and all the horses were a bit up... Trainer had me stay in the left side of the arena and figure 8 over the poll (#4) being one side of the 8 and the open rail (far left of the picture) the other side. This wasn't hard but the random people who couldn't steer made it interesting and Henry's spooks made it interesting too lol.
Then we circled over the 4 poll and worked on lead changes.
Finally we moved onto jumping... Trainer had set up the horse eating latices- woo hoo! lol So we started with the latice/with a poll on top vertical- jump 1... back and forth. Them moved onto 1 to 2- he jumped the oxer so big and flat the first time, it was so weird feeling and apparently entertaining for all who were watching. Then we did 2 to 1... did both of those a bit. Then we did 1 with a short turn left or right- depending on which way i jumped it- and rolled around cantering over the poll on that side, 3 or 4, then halted.
It was a good ride, I was and am exhausted- dang that time of the month, it seriously takes all my energy away!
Trainer ride tomorrow and lesson Saturday.

DeleteSorry to hear about the show. I feel your pain on the trailer. I had my own for many years but Loki doesn't fit so it had to go. I'm saving for a new one now. I hate being dependent on others for transportation!

Deletesorry :-( IWould Be So Disappointed. I Have Been Hesitating Getting Savvy's USEF Horse Recording For ThIs Very Reason. I Don't Want To Jinx Things And Waste Money! Horse Stuff Is Annoyingly Unpredictable And expensive Even When It doesn't Work Out. Wish They Would Have Refunded Your Money.

DeleteIt's early enough where they should refund you. People are stupid... Can you find anyone to take your spot? My friend had to skip out on a clinic at the Equine Affaire and found someone who jumped in for her and she got her money back. I know being a show it's different but hey, you never know! Trailers man... Trailers. We're in the same boat. Plenty of trucks! No trailer. :(
ReplyDeleteNot really.. if you are going to the show you are going with your barn and your stall will be with your barn, so i don't think anyone would want a stall in another area... I wish though! :)
DeleteThat sucks about the show! I dont have a trailer either but we have some super nice ones that we hire when I want to compete.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard not having your own trailer. I was that kid growing up and I hated it. When Eric and I got Dandy I INSISTED we get a trailer. We got lucky and had a friend who wanted to sell hers and was totally willing to take payments. It has been such a godsend and I am a very lucky girl.

Yeah hubby and I have talked about getting one but right now we can't afford it... hopefully in a year or two we can though :) I so wish we could make payments, that would make it do able now! One day haha!
