Trainer is gone so Saturday was free for all, as well as Erica's bday :)
Got to the barn, groomed my sweet boy, tacked him up and then got on.. People were trickling in and at one point the arena was a bit crazy- typically I do left left but I swear not everyone follows that rule. It was nice to know that Henry didn't freak out or lose his marbles!
I just hacked around, working on Henry being "soft" and not hanging on my hands. Soft is not in Henry's vocabulary so I did the best we could lol!
Then Mona and I went down to cool out with Erica and went for a little walk around the property.
After untacking and hosing off, I gave Henry his grain and we chowed down on some cake and Dr Pepper. Mona and I hooked Erica up :)
Sunday he had off, Monday hack, Tuesday hack, Wednesday off, Thursday something, Friday turn out and Saturday hack.
Saw this on FB... hilarious! |
That last picture is terrifying... I hope they were ok!
ReplyDeleteGlad things are going well for you and Henry :)

DeleteMore people need to learn the left-left rule! Nobody can follow it if even one person doesn't follow it - you just end up going around calling 'inside' and 'outside' and praying.
ReplyDeleteYes they do!!! Would make everything so much easier! :)
DeleteThe last picture is horrifying. Hope the horse and rider were alright.

DeleteGlad you had a good weekend. :-) I would be scared if I was that rider and surprised that obsticle broke, I bet that paused the whole XC!
ReplyDeleteRight!! Scarrrrry!
DeleteLeft to left all the way! I admittedly hate it when not everyone speaks the same arena language.
ReplyDeletePreach it!!! :)
DeleteHaha, I almost put that same pic on my blog. That would probably be why Jetta will never go Intermediate/Advanced. She'd try to be "smart" and go under the jumps...
ReplyDeleteLOL "smart" .. no thank you!
DeleteOMG I've never seen that happen! The series of pics on the link is incredible. What a goober, going UNDER the trakahner jump! I dont think that's what the course designer had in mind when they rigged the jump with frangible pins! Glad they were both ok!
ReplyDeleteI know right!!! Yeah I'd say the course designer wasn't expecting that approach lol! Thankfully they were both ok!
DeleteYay for Mommy time!
ReplyDelete:-)
Barn= the best mommy time!! :)
DeleteWow what a picture! Henry is so handsome in his Baker :-)
ReplyDeleteRight!!! Thanks :)
DeleteOh my. I'd be bailing so HARD on that last picture!
ReplyDeleteI know me too!!! Im not sure I would be so quick to think to duck- great rider!
DeleteHaha omg the picture, I'm crying. Hey, that pony is smart. I feel like that's something Wiz would try to do...
ReplyDeletelol i don't think I will ever be brave enough to jump that big!
DeleteLOL - at that last picture. Romeo tried that once and it didn't end to well for me.
