$100,000

An Eventful Life has a great idea.. what would you buy if you had $100,000?

In CA this wouldn't get me what I could get else where ha! Somewhere else, I'd but it all twds a facility!!

1. First I'd pay off my student loans- Roughly $25,000

2. I'd buy a custom saddle- Roughly $5000

3. New Truck- Roughly $30,000

4. New Trailer- Roughly $16,000

5. I'd take about $4,000 and shop- breeches, custom boots, polos, belts, vests, jackets, show clothes, bridles, bathing products, girths... you name it!

6. With the last $20,000 I'd save it for anything that might come up :)

How would you spend $100,000?

  1. I'll probably do a post on this, but preliminary thoughts: 1/2 to student loans; ~30k on a custom two-or-three-horse trailer; 5k to shopping; 15k for an Oldenburg baby. No need for savings b/c paying off student loans would save me a lot of money each month!

    1. Yeah no student loans would help us out SO much too! I have been paying them FOREVER!

  2. Fun! Saddle, truck, and trailer for sure! Lots of lessons for both of us. Maybe a new cart, or a well trained Haflinger that drives. Boots.

  3. I would buy a horse for about 2,000; a small two horse trailer, probably around 5,000 if used; tack and supplies, maybe 3,000-5,000; a year's worth of weekly lessons, which is about 2,600; I would go to several famous horseman's clinics over summer, including Buck Brannaman's---3,000?. I would also buy several acres and start an ex-racehorse retraining/rehabilitation center---50,000?. Honestly, I can't think of many more things I'd buy, so I would save most of the leftovers to go toward board, feed, vet bills, etc., and the rest would go toward college.

  6. Love this idea! Might have to dedicate a post to it too, although I did just make a sales shopping dream wishlist which included pricey items like saddles, field boots & a Theault or Equitrek 2 horse truck/van...that'd all eat into a chunk of a $100, 000 :-D

  13. Love this. I'd put ALL the money towards student loans. After that, we'd pretty much be able to afford almost anything!
