Here is a little video of last Tuesday. There are some rough spots to the oxer lol and a nice halt into the wall at the end (yes I did that on purpose, Henry likes to haul bootie so I have to remind him that I am the boss lady).
Monday night I went and rode with Kat. It was a bit chilly but nothing like what it was Saturday Morning!
Got Henry, tacked up, put him on the line for like 2 min and he was a dead head so I got on. I rode in the Segunda. He was great for like 30 min, them BAM he got heavy. UGH. One day Henry you are going to have to go in a big boy bit- we can't show in a Mikmar (don't be alarmed, this bit isn't that severe- it just makes him carry himself instead of making or trying to make me do it :) ) Anywho once the heavyness started we did lots of stopping and backing in a frame.
I told my trainer that I wanted to have her watch my ride him in the Segunda tonight so that she can help.
I am sure it didn't help that someone with a very high horse was chasing it around the round pen, in the slick mud- DANGER!

Heh - I sometimes plan my work outfit around what I can layer for the barn afterward! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI am so guilty of that too!
DeleteI've been known to strip off my tattoo-hiding cardigan and go straight to the barn. More so on "jeans" Fridays. And... absolutely will go anywhere immediately following a ride.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share! I'm excited read some new blogs!
I wish we could wear jeans... the owner of my company hates denim :(
DeleteYou are welcome!
Thanks for the mention on your blog! Love reading yours too. I talk about people on blogs so much that my husband know them by name :)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! :)
DeleteI know I feel like I really know you guys too lol!!
I had to buy a bunch of new work shirts after I started working at the barn I was boarding at. They all had stains on the left side where I would prop the grain buckets as I went through the barn :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the shout out! All though I don't always have something to say, I do stop by and read yours often :-) I often consider other bloggers my friends even though I haven't ever met them in real life
Hey I put my feed bucked on my left side/hip too! lol
DeleteI enjoy reading your blog and thanks for stopping by, Henry and I appreciate it! :)
Oh so many thoughts! I LOVE when I can get away with sports bra + shirt I can wear to work/ride in, RARE fashion moment! Second, Pong gets heavy when he gets tired, so if he's light and good for 20 minutes then gets heavy, I stop and or mix my work with LOTS of walk breaks, changing the frame up helps to so they use different muscles...asking him to go long/low, deep, up and light, etc. Ummm and yeah, lunging in our round pen right now = suicidal! Who would do that, it's asking for a broken leg, pulled tendon, or strained muscle!
ReplyDeleteYeah I want Ira to help me in my lesson tonight and tell me if my hands are getting busy of if he is being a butt or ?? :)
DeleteOh and I have no idea who was in the round pen but obvi they are nuts! lol
I love your covered arena! I'm jealous! lol You and Henry look good jumping. Thank you for the shout out. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou are welcome!
Love the video :) You stayed with him really well even with the awkward distances.
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning my blog :) Your is awesome to. It's on my favourites list!
Thanks! I try to not cause more issues when the distance is funky lol
DeleteThanks so much for the shout out! Your blog is one of my favorites too - I feel like we are on parallel paths. ;)
ReplyDeleteLoved the video - you should do a comparison post. A year ago vs today - the amount of change is huge! Henry looks like a rock star (you don't look too shabby either!) and you guys have developed into such a partnership. Love the red heads!
I have actually gone back and compared where I was and where I am- still have so much growing to do but am thankful for where we have come :)
DeleteI'm so bad for wearing 'normal clothes' to the barn, only to wear them out in public after. I'm sure i'm often the smelliest in the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out!
You and me girl! I totally wear what I have ridden in out in public to do errands :)
DeleteThank you so much for the shout out!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a Kineton noseband would help the pulling...? I just got one, haven't tried it yet!
You are welcome!
DeleteI normally ride in a Mikmar which helps a lot but I would like to start riding in what I plan to show in :)
Thanks for the shout out lady. :)
ReplyDelete(Especially since I'm a crappy blogger who never writes about her horse because she never frigging sees her, haha.)
Fo sho!! :)
DeleteThank you for the shout out! :) I will have to do a post like this when I am in CA next week.
ReplyDeleteI love reading about you and H - gives me some confidence that I can do it too - although I am pretty sure you are way more B.A...
lol you are toooo kind... i have my trainer to thank for anything I do cause she NEVER lets me say no or back down and is always pushing me out of where I would like to be ha!
DeleteThank you so much for the shout out! I love your blog too and have been reading it for a while. Oh and I think Henry is the cutest thing ever :)
ReplyDeleteAh thanks!!
