Chai Tea Latte
Hit up Starbucks on the way to the barn... yummmmmy!
Henry is getting better... we are taking it slow and doing light hacks- giving that splint time to heal :) Can't wait for my ice boots to come!
I semi participated in the lesson with everyone.
After the lesson I gave Henry a head to toe bath... he was so clean I could have eaten off of him lol!!!
Cold hosed his leg, grained, pampered him some more, took him to his stall, filled up his water and gave kisses.
He will get cold hosed and turned out tomorrow, light hack and cold hosed Monday, hack and cold hosed Tuesday, turn out and ice boots Wednesday, idk Thursday, trainer ride light hack and ice boots Friday and Saturday hack and ice boots. We will see how the week goes as to when he will start jumping again. I am in no hurry, just taking time for that splint to set :)

That's a lot of hack, cold hose, ice boot lol! Post pic of boots when you get them!
ReplyDeleteWill do :)
DeleteHope he's back to 100% in no time! Ice boots are awesome. I have a pair of the Ice Horse boots and love them; have had them for 2 years now. Can't tell you how many times I put them on her when she stocked up, had a swollen cut on a leg, or just wanted to help her cool off faster. Of course they were used on her tendon injury in the beginning, and other people have borrowed them when they've had issues with swollen legs on their horses. They were well worth the investment; I think everyone should have a pair in their equine first aid kit. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to get them!! I am all about preventative maintenance and if icing is needed, ill do it :)
DeleteGlad to know you have had good luck with icing!!
Any other methods you'd reccomend? :)
The BOT Quick Wraps, of course! :) They would be for heat therapy, not cold therapy like the icing, but after trying one of their ankle braces on myself, I want the wraps for Lily. It really, really works. These are next on the list! :)
DeleteI tried the BOT saddle pad and Henry didn't like it so I am leery to spend the money on any other BOT products :-/ Maybe ill try another one though :)
DeleteSounds like good planning to me!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it help mr Henry :) I want him to last forever!! Lol
DeleteDo you order 2 drinks at one time at Starbucks, too?? I order a hor, black coffee (need the caffeine) and a 1/2 lemonade/1/2 ice tea because I am thirsty in the CA sun :-) Glad H-boy is back!
ReplyDeleteOne for me and one for my trainer :)
DeleteThat is so nice of you :-) I am clearly the crazy one!
Deletelol are the smart one! :)
DeleteOh no. Now ALL I want is to go out and get a chai! Thanks Karley!
ReplyDeleteLol yummy chai ;) I should be a spokes person for Starbucks
DeleteWhat kind of ice boots did you order? I'm in the market for some - cold hosing gets tiring fast!
ReplyDeleteYes sick of cold hosing over here too!! I got the cool boots from Dover :)
DeleteLove Starbucks!!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmmmmm :)
DeleteI can't believe I still have never had Starbucks. I'm not a coffee drinker but everyone loves it, going to try it!
ReplyDeleteHenry is so handsome in that pic. Everytime I bathe a horse they always roll. :-(
I walk him or let him eat grain till he's dry :)
DeleteI don't like coffee either.. I get chai (tea) or a tuxedo mocha ;)
Ill be interested to see how you like the ice boots.
ReplyDeleteIll be sure to tell you all how I like them :)
DeleteLike everyone else, will be interested to hear about these ice boots when you get them in. And I'm sure Henry will be back to 100% in no time. :-)
