It's been a long time since I showed but I suspect I would lean on my old friend - junk food. I'm kind of a stress eater so I suspect I'd have a bag of Doritos taped to my arm. What someone probably should eat is light simple meals and snacks that are healthy. I'm thinking bananas, apples, some chicken wraps, a protein shake/bar etc... :) you need to fuel yourself!
Red vines and garlic fries...HAHAHAHA. No seriously I try to eat a filling breakfast with protein that way I am never starving if I don't end up eating much the rest of the day.
I'm usually too nervous to eat during the wait between ride times (ha ha, we have ride times! ;P), so I make sure I'm loaded down with junk food. Because who can resist the urge to eat junk food? That way at least there's something in my system, and I can eat normal healthy food once I'm done riding.
i like to have cans of soda water around - somehow the bubbles seem more refreshing in a way. and then total junk food like party mix or pretzels - salty stuff coated in MSG haha.
I always find it amusing that walking tacos, sloppy joes, or chili are ALWAYS what is being provided at dressage shows. Uh, hello?! I am dressed in head to toe in WHITE, why would I want to eat any of those things!! Honestly, I usually get so caught up in preparations, remembering tests, and nerves that I forget to eat until I get home!

ReplyDeleteI like string cheese, apples, King's Hawaiian bread rolls and granola bars. I keep everything pretty bland and try to stick to some protein.

ReplyDeleteGatorade or Poweraide for sure!
ReplyDeleteLara bars or granola bars, fruit (fresh or dried), water, more water, extra water.
ReplyDeleteAnd wine and beer for over-night shows.
Cheezits! And of course wine in the evenings :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also a Cheezit (and wine) fan! It's basically all I bring to a show with me :)
DeleteGoldfish, Red Vines, Dried Fruit, Carrots/Apples Cheese & Crackers...and an ice cold cooler filled with drinks like water, Gatorade and beer!
ReplyDeleteLots of bottled water, Pepsi, Gatorade, along with a few beers :) A few granola bars and prepackaged peanut butter crackers.
ReplyDeleteI like lighter fare -- lots of fruit -- as well as some munchies like pretzels, cheese & crackers, etc.
ReplyDeleteGOLDFISH! And a coca-cola pick me up, but mostly water.

ReplyDeleteSoda Crackers!
ReplyDeleteI don't eat a lot before I ride- so I tend to pig out after my classes. If I do eat before it's just snacking- Goldfish or crackers :)
